What is SBG Bozeman?

SBG Bozeman is part of the SBG Montana Family and the internationally renowned Straight Blast Gym International.

Whether you’re a top level professional MMA fighter, elementary school child, middle-aged professional or stay-at-home mom, people join the tribe at Straight Blast Gym Bozeman because they want REAL training with REAL results and REAL people. In every program, our innovative curriculum is designed to build skills and help people improve health and wellness. Our coaches are the best in the industry in both teaching, coaching, and making the journey valuable and enjoyable.

Our kids Growing Gorillas program is exclusive to SBG and specially designed for children’s progression. Parents love the impact on their confidence, well-being and sporting achievement as much as the children do.

Ricky Davison

Owner / Head Coach

Ricky Davison is an SBG Black Belt and an owner of SBG Bozeman. He has been training and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the last 17 years as well as coaching both kids and adults of all ages for almost a decade. Having competed since the age of 5, Coach Ricky has much competition experience such as, gold medals in both his gi and no-gi division at the 2016 Kids World Championships, being named The Revolution’s Top Ranked Adult Blue Belt athlete at only 16 years old, earning a submission win at Submission Underground 5. He coaches to help improve the lifestyle and attitude of himself, and all of those around him.

Cecelia Davison

Owner

Cece Davison is an owner of SBG Bozeman. When her and Ricky opened SBG Bozeman in July of 2021 she was very new to jiu-jitsu. Now she has grown a love for the sport and for the people it has brought into her life. She is passionate about growing the gym family more and more every day. You can find her at the front desk, doing consultations, or chasing around her little baby girl.

Gus De Souza

Coach

Gus De Souza is a brown belt under head coach of SBG Montana, Travis Davison, and has grown up with our head coach Ricky Davison. Gus has been involved in our growing gorillas program since he was 10 years old and now runs several foundational and advanced adult classes throughout the week. Gus loves to maintain a high energy atmosphere in his classes and encourages a very interactive environment between coach and student.

Jess Peltier

Coach / Consultant

Jess Peltier is a Purple Belt in Jiu Jitsu under Coach Rick Davison. She coaches our Ladies Only and Foundations classes and assists in Kid’s Competition team as well. She has a diverse background in fitness instruction and in her free time loves to spend time outdoors with her family. Her favorite thing about SBG is the people she has met through training and the tribe culture of the gym. She considers her training partners like extended family and loves watching them grow and progress in both Jiu Jitsu and life.

Aaron Galvin

Coach / Consultant

Bien Venidos! Aaron Galvan is a blue belt, coach, and consultant at SBG Bozeman. He first joined SBG just looking for a community to be apart of, to exercise, and to learn a new skill. Now you can find him here any day of the week either teaching adult beginner classes, assisting in kids classes, or rolling on the mats!

Jamie Rainey

Coach

Jamie Rainey is an SBG Blue Belt and teaches the Micro Monkeys. She has a passion for teaching, exercise, and nutrition. Her two young kids keep her busy and always learning. She has been active in jiu jitsu since 2022 and calls the gym her second home as she is there every day of the week!
